Not Currently Employed

Our address is 7F North Road in Kolkata, with the pin code 700032. It’s an old part of the city, and the building reflects that with its high ceilings and walls that need a bit of paint. We go by the name Not Currently Employed here because that is the most accurate way to describe our group. We aren't a formal business with a sign above the door. Most people around North Road just know us as the folks who stay at 7F. Kolkata is a city that never really stops, and there is always a lot of noise from the buses and the people walking by outside. We don't have any big corporate goals or things like that. We just spend our days in the flat, doing some reading or helping out neighbors with small chores when they ask. The kitchen always has a pot of tea going, which is how we get through the long afternoons. It gets very humid here during the monsoon, and the walls sometimes get damp, but we are used to it by now. We don't have a staff or a manager. It is just a collective of people who are currently between jobs. We keep it simple and honest. There is no need for big words or marketing when you are just trying to live your life in a quiet way. We have lived here for many years and we like the feeling of the North Road neighborhood despite the noise. Sometimes we walk down to the market to see what is fresh for dinner.
