Nksb Breads is located on the 3rd floor of a building at 1 Acharya Jagadish Bose Road. It’s a busy part of Kolkata, right in the thick of the downtown rush. We focus on bread and bakery items, which means our lives usually revolve around flour and delivery schedules. Even though our main office is here on AJC Bose Road, the real action happens where the baking is done. We spend a lot of time making sure the batches are consistent every day. Bread is one of those things that people take for granted until it’s not right, so we have to stay on top of the process. It’s a lot of early mornings and late nights. The office upstairs is where we handle all the boring stuff like taxes and orders, but we’d much rather be looking at the actual products. We’re a small Limited Liability Partnership, so there isn't a lot of hierarchy here. We all just pitch in and help out. Sometimes the flour prices go up or the ovens act a bit strange, and we just have to figure it out on the fly. We don’t have a marketing department to write fancy slogans for us. We are just people who know a bit about baking and want to run a shop that works. Working on the 3rd floor means a lot of waiting for the lift, but it’s home for the business now. We just keep our heads down and keep the bread moving.
