Guilty Pleasures

Our little place is on Madan Mohan Talla Street. It’s at number 24, so it isn't too hard to find if you’re walking through the neighborhood. We wanted a spot that felt like it belonged to the street, not something you’d see in a big mall. The building itself is older, which gives it some character, even if the walls could use a fresh coat of paint every now and then. We mostly focus on the sweet things and snacks that people like to grab when they’re passing by. It’s often quite cramped inside because of all the boxes and the counter taking up space. There’s usually a smell of sugar or baking in the air that follows you out the door. We didn't really have a big plan when we started, we just liked the idea of having a shop here. Some days are really quiet and we just sit and watch the traffic, but other days everyone seems to come in at once. It gets a bit hectic, but we manage. My cousin helps out sometimes when things get busy. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big staff. It's just us doing what we can with what we have. People around here know us by name, and that’s how we like it. The street is always busy with people going to work or heading home. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't.
