Nitin Kumar Jain

My name is Nitin Kumar Jain and I operate out of 17 1 D Alipore Road in Kolkata. I’m located in the Nandan building, specifically at 7D, which is right across from the SBI branch. If you know Alipore, you know it’s one of those parts of town that feels a bit more established and traditional. There are big trees lining the streets and the old buildings have a lot of character. My office is a reflection of that. It’s not ultra-modern or sleek, but it’s solid and reliable. I’ve been here long enough that the security guards downstairs know me by my first name. The commute can be a bit of a hassle because the traffic around Alipore Road gets backed up during the monsoon or whenever there’s a festival, but I don’t really mind the wait. Inside my space, I keep things pretty tidy, though my desk is always covered in files. I prefer working this way, having everything within arm’s reach. The light comes in through the window in the afternoon and hits the old wooden floor. It’s a peaceful place to get things done. I don't go in for flashy signs or big promotions. Most people who come to see me have been coming for years, or they were sent by someone I know. Kolkata is a city that values those kinds of long-term connections, and I try to honor that in my work.
