Working out of Fortuna Towers at 23 A Ns Road is always an interesting experience. We are tucked away on the 2nd floor, at 9A. If you know this part of the city, you know that finding a parking spot is basically a miracle, so most of us end up taking the local transport or walking a bit. Newby India Pvt. Ltd. has been in this building for a while now. The lift is a bit slow and sometimes it feels like it has a mind of its own, so a lot of the time we just take the stairs to get to the second floor. It keeps us moving, I guess. Inside the office, it’s mostly just the sound of keyboards and people talking on the phone. We aren’t a huge team, but we stay busy enough with the daily tasks that come our way. The light in the afternoons is actually quite nice through the windows, even if the view is mostly just other buildings and the street below. We have a small corner where we keep the kettle going because someone is always wanting a cup of tea. It’s not a fancy corporate setup with glass walls and modern art, just a functional space where we handle our business. Every now and then, the noise from the street gets loud, especially when there’s a festival or a protest nearby, but that’s just life on NS Road.
