Our Naukri.com office is located at 128/1 Motijil Avenue, inside the Omkar Apartment building in Dum Dum. It is a very busy part of North Kolkata. Living and working around here means you get used to the noise of the city pretty quickly. The apartment we use for the office is usually packed with files and computer equipment. People are always dropping by to ask about their online profiles or how to find better work. We try to help them out as best as we can. It is not a polished corporate floor; it looks more like a workspace where people actually get their hands dirty with data and spreadsheets. We have got a few rooms dedicated to different tasks. The commute to Dum Dum can be a bit of a hassle with the traffic on Motijil Avenue, but we are used to it by now. We spend most of the day looking at screens and talking to job seekers over the phone. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which is just part of living in West Bengal. It is a small team here, so we all end up doing a bit of everything during the shift. There is no big fancy sign outside, just the address on the door of the flat. We are just here to make sure the job listings stay updated and the local people get some help with their careers.
