Our office for N K Jain Co is at 39 Nimtalla Ghat Street in Kolkata. If you know West Bengal, you know that this part of Kolkata has a lot of history. The street is old and has that classic 700006 pin code feel to it. It’s a busy, cramped area where every building has a story. Our place is no different. It’s a bit weathered on the outside, but inside we have everything we need to run the company. There’s a lot of character in the old walls and the high ceilings. The sound of the city is always there in the background—the trams, the rickshaws, and people shouting to each other. We’ve been operating from this address for a long time. We aren’t interested in moving to one of those new, shiny glass towers in Salt Lake. There is something about being on Nimtalla Ghat Street that feels right for us. It keeps us connected to the roots of the city. We don’t have a marketing team writing stories about us. We just handle our business every day. Most of our clients have been coming to us for years, and their fathers came to us before that. It’s about being a consistent part of the neighborhood. We drink our chai, do our work, and see the day through. That’s just the way it is here at N K Jain Co.
