We are located on the first floor of a building at 18 16 Dover Lane in Kolkata. Dover Lane is a pretty well-known spot, especially for the music festivals, but for us, it is just the place where we come to work every morning. Our building is one of those older Kolkata structures with high ceilings and big windows. We usually keep the windows shut to block out the humidity and the constant noise of the street traffic below. Our work involves maritime logistics, which basically means a lot of paperwork and keeping track of where ships are located. It is not the most exciting job in the world, but it is important for moving goods. The office is quite crowded with files and desks pushed close together. We have a tiny pantry area where we brew tea several times a day to keep ourselves going. You can hear the yellow taxis honking their horns outside almost all day long. It is a busy neighborhood but it has a lot of soul to it. We do not have a huge sign outside the building, just a small nameplate near the entrance. Most people we work with just call us on the phone or we go meet them at the port. We have been in this same office for a long time and everyone knows the daily routine by heart.
