If you find yourself on Mateshtala Road, you might see our place at number 61/A. It’s a typical Kolkata street, always a bit crowded and lively. We’ve been operating S. M. Exports Kolkata from this location for some time. The building is older, but it holds everything we need to run the business. We do a lot of exporting, which involves a lot of sitting at desks and making phone calls. It’s not the kind of work that looks exciting from the outside. Usually, the office is filled with the sound of fans humming and someone typing away. We don’t have a big reception area or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will be there to talk to you. Sometimes the rain makes the road a bit messy, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We try to stay organized, though files do tend to stack up on the corners of the desks. Our team is small, just a few local people who know the trade well. We don’t use a lot of big words or try to impress anyone. We just get the goods ready and handle the shipping documents. It’s a lot of paperwork and waiting for confirmations. We stay until the work is done, even if it gets a bit late.
