Marketing Director In A Leading Crane Manufacturing Company

My office is right on Brabourne Road in Calcutta, which is always crowded and noisy. I work as the marketing director for a company that makes cranes. We are based at number 36. It is an old building, typical for this part of the city. My day is usually full of logistics and talking to the factory people. Dealing with heavy machinery like cranes is a lot different than selling soap or clothes. You have to understand how the machines work and who needs them for big construction projects. I have been in this role for a long time, and I have seen the industry go through a lot of ups and downs. The office is often a bit messy with blueprints and catalogs scattered around. It is not a fancy corporate environment where everything is polished. It is a place where we get things done. I spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers and site managers. The heat in Calcutta can be tough, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the window just right. I usually have tea brought in from the stall downstairs a couple of times a day. It helps keep me going. There is always something breaking or a deadline that needs to be met. It is a busy life, but it is what I know. I have grown to like the chaos of the city over the years, even if it gets on my nerves once in a while.
