Our office is over at 47, Gurupado Halder Road in Kolkata. Manpower Services India Pvt Ltd is basically a place where we connect people with jobs. It’s a busy street, so there’s always something going on outside the door. Inside, it’s mostly just us on the phones or typing away. We have piles of resumes that we go through every morning. It’s not the most glamorous job, but it’s important for the people who are looking for a way to earn a living. We try to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We’ve got a few old chairs for visitors to sit on while they wait. The walls are a bit plain, maybe they could use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We mostly focus on making sure the paperwork is correct. There’s a lot of back and forth with different companies across the city. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to get to work on time, but we usually manage. We aren’t a massive corporate headquarters with hundreds of staff. It’s just a dedicated group of us here on Gurupado Halder Road. We know the local shops and the people around here. It’s a good spot to be. We just do our best to help people find where they fit in the workforce. It’s a lot of talking and a lot of listening every single day.
