Manager Sales Collection

Our small office is located at B 107 in Survey Park, right in the Jadavpur and Santoshpur area of Kolkata. It is a quiet residential-style neighborhood, but we stay busy with the sales and collection side of things. Mostly, we are keeping track of who owes what and making sure the payments are coming in on time. It is a lot of spreadsheets and phone calls, to be honest. Kolkata can be a bit chaotic with its narrow streets, but our corner is relatively manageable compared to the main roads. We have a few desks and a lot of files piled up. The work isn't exactly glamorous, but it is necessary for keeping the business side of things healthy. Sometimes we have to go out and meet people in person to settle accounts, which means dealing with the local traffic and the humidity. We usually prefer it when people just come by the office to settle things up. We have been in this spot for a while now and the locals know the building well. There is a certain rhythm to the day here, starting with tea and ending with a final check of the ledger books. We do not use any high-tech systems that we do not really need; simple records work just fine for us. It is a small team, so everyone knows exactly what needs doing. (241 words)
