Magic Nines

Operating out of Midnapore, specifically near the Police Line, has its own specific rhythm. Our space is located in Quarter D 3, Type IV, which is not your typical high-rise office building. It stays relatively quiet around here, mostly because of how the residential quarters are set up. We started Magic Nines because we wanted to have a base in Paschim Medinipur. Most of the day is spent at our desks, just working through whatever is on the schedule. The walls are painted a pale yellow color, and we have a few potted plants that probably need more sunlight than they actually get. It is a very simple setup. We do not have a big glowing sign outside or anything like that to show where we are. People who need us usually already know how to find this particular quarter. The walk from the main road isn't too long, but it gets very hot in the afternoons during the summer. Sometimes we can hear the sound of drills or shouting from the police training grounds nearby. It has become a background noise that we don't even notice after a few hours. We keep an old kettle in the corner for making tea or coffee when the weather gets a bit gloomy. There is a sturdy wooden table where we pile up all the paperwork. It isn't fancy, just a place where we sit and get things done.
