Finding our office at 402/1 N. S. C Bose Road isn't too hard once you get used to the Kolkata traffic. We are up in Flat 404, so it’s a bit of a climb or a short lift ride depending on how you’re feeling. The street outside is always noisy with buses and people shouting, but it gets a bit quieter once you step inside the building. M N Dastur Co Pvt Ltd has been based here for a while, and the flat has sort of become our second home. We have desks crammed in where they fit and there’s usually a pot of tea going somewhere. It’s not a fancy corporate space with marble floors, just a place where we sit down and handle our business every day. Sometimes the internet is slow or the rainy season makes the walls a bit damp, but that’s just how things are in this part of town. We see a lot of people coming and going through the main gate of the apartment block. Most of us have been working together for a long time, so we don't need many rules. We just get the work done and head home before the evening rush hour gets too bad on Bose Road. It’s a practical setup that works for what we do, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. We focus on the daily tasks and try to keep everything organized despite the urban chaos.
