Being right by the Dhakuria station means we are never far from the sound of trains. Our office is at 18A Dhakuria Station Lane. It's a very convenient spot for the staff because we can just jump on the local train and be home in no time. The building itself is an older one, typical for this part of Kolkata. It has high ceilings and those heavy doors that have been painted over a dozen times. At M N Dastur Co P Limitedkolkata, we don’t really care much for modern office trends. We have what we need: chairs, desks, and enough light to see our work. It gets a bit dusty because of the station nearby, so we spend some time every morning wiping things down. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed, though we do get our work done on schedule. Most of us have been working together for years, so we’re more like a group of friends than just coworkers. We share snacks in the afternoon and complain about the humidity together. If someone comes to visit, they usually find us busy with some technical drawings or arguing over a calculation. We don't put on a show for anyone. This is just a workspace where real work happens. It’s nothing special to look at from the outside, but it’s where we spend our days and we’re used to it. We keep our heads down and stay busy.
