M. G. M Rubber Company

Our place is located at 86/1 BT Road, right in the Tala area. If you spend any time on BT Road, you know it’s a main artery for the city, so it’s loud and busy from sunrise to way past dark. We have been here at this address long enough to see the buildings around us change, but our shop stays pretty much the same. The air inside always has that heavy, distinct smell of industrial rubber. We have stacks of gaskets, long rolls of tubing, and various rubber components piled on the heavy wooden shelves. Most of the time, the floor is covered in little bits of trimmed material or dust from the road outside. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just a couple of old calendars on the wall and a desk that has seen better days. It gets a bit dark in the back of the shop, so we have to use a handheld torch sometimes to find the smaller parts. Dealing with rubber products means our hands are usually a bit dirty by the end of the shift. We spend a lot of time just organizing the inventory and making sure things aren't getting brittle in the heat. It’s a simple setup, really. We just show up, do the work, and watch the traffic crawl by outside the front door until it’s time to close up. Being M. G. M Rubber Company means dealing with a lot of heavy material, but we are used to it all by now.
