Ac Umer Cutty Company is right on No. 2- D Bentick Street. It’s a busy street with a lot of old buildings and shops. Our place is on one of the upper floors of the building. It’s an old-style office with high ceilings and big ceiling fans that hum. We deal with a lot of hardware and various mechanical parts. There are boxes stacked up in the corners and on the shelves. It’s been here at this address for a long time. The street outside is always noisy with cars and people shouting to each other. We are used to the sound by now and barely notice it. It’s just a small team of us handling the orders and checking the inventory. Ac Umer Cutty Company isn't a flashy or modern business. It’s more traditional than that. We still keep paper records as well as using the computer for things. The stairs up to the office are a bit steep and narrow. We spend our mornings sorting through what needs to be sent out for the day. It’s hard work and it gets quite hot in the afternoons. We know all the other business owners on Bentick Street. We often have tea delivered to the desk from the stall downstairs. It’s a very grounded way of working. No big corporate speeches or missions here. We just make sure the parts get where they need to go. We just try to get through the day's tasks.
