We are based out of Flat No 10 in the Dhurba Apartment building, which is located at 14 No Kalikapur Main Road in Kolkata. It’s a bit different because we are inside an apartment building rather than a big commercial tower. Life Insurance Corporation Of India is our name. When you come up to the flat, you’ll find a regular office setting. We have desks squeezed in and shelves full of documents. Since it’s an apartment, it feels a bit more like a home than a cold office, which some people seem to like. We spend our time processing paperwork and helping people who walk in with questions about their insurance. Kolkata 78 is a busy area, and the Kalikapur Main Road is always full of life. We can hear the street noise from the windows. We don’t have a big lobby, so if three or four people come in at once, it gets a little tight in here. We just ask everyone to be patient while we finish with the person in front of them. There’s no fancy marketing here, just us trying to keep the records straight and making sure the files don't get mixed up. We have a small table where you can sit and fill out your forms. It’s a local spot where we know the neighbors and they know exactly where to find us when they need to pay.
