Our office is tucked away at 7 5 Ambica Ghosal Lane in Shibpur. If you haven’t been to this part of Howrah, it can be a bit tricky to find the first time. The lane is narrow, like most streets around here, and it has that old neighborhood feel where everyone knows everyone else. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a good while. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they hold up just fine. Inside, there are stacks of folders and several registers where we keep track of everything for the Lic work. It’s not a big flashy office with glass walls. It’s more like a place where you sit down, have a glass of water, and talk about what needs to be done with your papers. In the mornings, you can hear the sounds of the neighborhood waking up, and during the monsoon, the rain really drums on the roof. We spend most of our hours looking over policy details or helping someone fill out a form they don’t quite understand. It’s slow work sometimes, but it’s what we do. We don't have a receptionist in a suit; usually, it's just one of us sitting at the main desk. We keep it simple because that’s what works for the people living in Shibpur. We’re just here to handle the insurance side of things so folks don’t have to travel too far into the city center.
