Out in Boalia Battala in the Garia area, that’s where Leo Exports Pvt. Ltd. operates from. It is a bit quieter out here compared to the middle of Kolkata, which we actually prefer. We have a decent amount of space for our operations. The building is older, but it stays relatively cool even when the sun is out. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment; we just use what works. Most of the staff comes from around Garia, so we have a good local feel in the office. We talk about the local news and what’s happening in the market over our lunch breaks. The work we do is pretty steady. We handle the exports and make sure everything is documented for the authorities. It involves a lot of sitting at desks and typing, but we also have to go out and check on things quite often. There isn't a "boss" who stays hidden in a private office; we all sit together and talk through whatever problems come up. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure our shipments get out on time. It is a simple way of running things, but it has worked for us so far.
