Our office is up on the 9th floor of Bells House, which is right on Camac Street. It’s a busy part of Kolkata, as most people know. Lakshmi Ashiana Vyapaar has been based here for a bit now. Being at 21 Camac Street means there’s always something going on outside, but once you get up to the ninth floor, it stays a bit calmer. We spend our days dealing with the trade and business side of things. It’s not always glamorous work, mostly just keeping track of numbers and making sure our records are straight. The elevators in this building can be a bit slow during the lunch rush, so we’ve learned to plan around that. We aren't a massive corporation with hundreds of employees. It’s more of a tight-knit group where everyone knows what the other person is doing. We try to keep things organized without making it too complicated. Sometimes the heat in the city gets to be a lot, but the office is a decent place to be. We’ve been through some busy seasons and some slow ones too. That’s just the nature of vyapaar, I guess. You take the good days with the ones where nothing seems to go right. We don't have any big speeches to give about what we do. We just come in, do the work, and head home like everyone else in this neighborhood. It works for us.
