Kolkata Port Trust

Our location is at 15 A Portland Park, in one of the old bungalows. It’s a bit different from the usual office buildings you see around Kolkata. This place has a lot of history to it. You can feel it in the high ceilings and the way the floors creak. We use this space for the administrative side of the port trust. It’s a bit quieter here than down at the actual docks. We’ve got desks set up in the different rooms of the house. There are stacks of files everywhere because there’s always something that needs signing or checking. We don't have a big corporate sign out front. It’s more of a low-key setup. People come here for meetings or to sort out specific maritime documents. The gardens outside are a bit overgrown, but it adds to the character of the place. We like the Portland Park area because it’s a nice break from the heavy traffic of the city. We aren't doing any fancy PR here. We just handle the port business as it comes. Sometimes the fans are the only thing you hear when everyone is busy reading through reports. It’s a steady pace of work. We’ve been at this address for quite a while, and it suits the way we do things. It's an old-fashioned way to run a modern port operation, but it works.
