Over at 249 H A Dum Dum Road in the Baghjola Ghoshpara area of Kolkata, you’ll find Kishorilal Shyamsunder. This place has been part of the neighborhood for a long time. Kolkata is a city that never really stops, and Dum Dum Road is right in the middle of all that energy. Our building is an old one, tucked away in Ghoshpara, and it’s seen a lot of history. I’ve spent more hours here than I can count. It’s a family-run kind of thing, passed down through the years, and we try to keep that spirit alive. The office is small and filled with ledgers and old files. We don’t use a lot of high-tech gadgets or have a modern layout. It’s a bit cramped, but we know where everything is. Most of our days are spent talking to local folks and handling the usual business that comes our way. It’s not glamorous, and it’s certainly not corporate. There’s always someone coming in to chat or ask a question. We like the connection we have with the people around here. It makes the long days go by faster. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud we have to shout a bit, but that’s just life on Dum Dum Road. We aren't trying to change the world, just keeping our corner of it running smoothly. It is a long tradition that we are proud to continue here every single day.
