Our office is over on 32C Lenin Sarani. If you know where the old Jyoti Cinema is, we are right beside it. It is a very busy part of town with a lot of people moving around all day long. We do import and export work here. The building is an older one, which gives it some character, though the stairs can be a bit much sometimes when you are tired. We have desks piled with papers and samples from different places we trade with. It is mostly just us on the phones or handling the shipping documents. Working in this part of Kolkata means there is always something going on outside. The noise from the street comes right in through the windows most days. We have been here for a long time, so we know all the local tea sellers and the other businesses on the block. It is not a corporate glass tower. It is just a regular office where we handle the logistics of moving goods. Sometimes things get delayed at the port and we have to stay late to sort out the mess. It is just part of the trade. We don't have a fancy website or anything. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for years. We just keep track of the shipments and make sure the paperwork is correct for the customs guys. It is a steady job and we like the neighborhood.
