Job Associates

We’ve been here at 100A Shyam Bazaar Street for a while now. It is a busy part of Kolkata, right near the Hathkhola post office. You know how it is in this neighborhood, always something going on outside. We started Job Associates because people needed a place to go when they were looking for a shift or a new spot to work. It isn't a big fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. Just some desks and files. We spend most of our mornings talking to folks who walk in off the street. Some days are quieter than others. In the afternoons, the tea stall nearby gets really crowded, and you can hear the noise from the main road all day. We try to keep things simple here. If someone needs a job, we look through what we have. It’s mostly local stuff. Dealing with paperwork takes up a lot of time, and sometimes the fans don't work right when it's hot. But we show up every day. The address is easy to find if you know the post office. People sometimes get lost looking for the specific door, but we are usually around. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us handling the phones and the walk-ins. It gets a bit dusty with the windows open, but that's just how the street is. We just keep going, day after day, helping where we can in this part of West Bengal. It is honest work.
