Jil

Jil is based out of Rahara, which is part of the Khardaha area in Kolkata. Our main office is at H O Jiban Nandi Choudhury, near the Rahara post office. It’s a more relaxed part of the city compared to the center, but it still feels very much like a community. We have been operating from this location for quite some time now. Most people around here know where we are because we’ve become a bit of a fixture in the neighborhood over the years. Our daily routine involves a lot of talking to people and managing the logistics of whatever is on the schedule for that week. It’s not a high-tech office with glass walls; it’s more of a traditional space with old desks and a lot of history. We like it that way because it feels comfortable and honest to us. Sometimes the rain gets quite heavy during the monsoon season, and we have to make sure everything stays dry, but that’s just life in Kolkata. We don't put on any acts or try to sound bigger than we are. We are just a local group of people trying to provide for our families and keep the business running smoothly. If you drop by, you’ll likely find us sharing a pot of tea and discussing the day's tasks. There’s no corporate ladder here, just a group of us working together to get through the long to-do list every week.
