Our office is tucked away on the second floor of a building at 5 Khairu Place. If you know Ganesh Chandra Avenue, you know how busy and cramped the area can get with all the shops and pedestrians. It’s one of those old Calcutta buildings with high ceilings and thick walls. We’ve been here for a while now, handling our international trade business. The staircase is a bit narrow and the lighting isn't always the best, but it works for us. Inside, there are usually stacks of shipping documents and folders piled up on every available surface. We handle a lot of logistics, so the phone is always ringing with someone asking about a container or a customs clearance. It gets quite loud outside with the horns honking, but we’re used to it. We don't have any big corporate branding on the walls, just a calendar and maybe a map. The team is small, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from answering emails to running down to the bank. It’s a practical place. We don't spend money on looking stylish; we just focus on making sure the goods get moved from point A to point B. It’s a lot of coordinating and making sure the paperwork is right, which can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We just keep at it and get the job done without complaining much about the noise.
