Involved In Family Run Property Development Business

This is a family thing we’ve got going on here in Kolkata. We do property development, but not the kind you see on billboards. It’s a family-run business based out of 19 New Raipur. We are right near the Raipur Club Gymnasium, so there’s always people walking by heading to work out. Po Garia is a nice enough area, though it gets crowded during the festivals. My father and I, and a couple of others, handle the day-to-day stuff. We mostly deal with small housing bits and local plots. It’s not always easy working with family, we have our arguments about how things should be done, but we get it settled. We don’t have a big corporate office with a view, just a room with some old files and a sturdy table. West Bengal has its own way of doing things, and we’ve learned to navigate it over the years. We like being a local name people recognize. When a neighbor asks about a plot, they know where to find us. We’ve been at this address for a long time now. The building is old but it stays cool in the summer. We don't spend money on marketing or big signs. Most people hear about us through word of mouth. It's a simple life, looking at bricks and mortar and trying to build something that lasts for the families who move in. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
