Initiate Consultants isn't some high-rise office with a lobby and a security guard checking your ID. It’s more of a walk-in kind of place where the desks are a bit too close together and there’s always a stack of files somewhere that someone forgot to put away. We deal with whatever comes our way. The street outside can get pretty noisy with the rickshaws and people shouting, but once you’re inside, it’s just the sound of keyboards clicking and maybe a small radio playing in the corner. We don’t spend much time on decorating. The walls are a plain color and we have some old calendars hanging up. It’s a practical setup. We get in early most days, try to beat the heat, and stay until the work is finished. There’s no big speech about what we do. We just do it. If a person calls, we talk to them like a neighbor. We’ve lived in Kolkata long enough to know that being straightforward is usually the best way to get things moving. We usually have some biscuits in the tin for when someone gets hungry around 4 PM. It’s just a regular office life without any of the fancy trimmings people expect these days. It’s enough for us.
