Independent Consultant

You can find me at 130/9 on Brahmo Samaj Road in the Behala area of Kolkata. I’ve been working as an independent consultant from this spot for quite some time. It is a very local neighborhood, so you get all the sounds of the street, the vendors, and the neighbors going about their day. The office is really just a room with a sturdy table and a couple of chairs for when people come by. Kolkata can get very humid, so I usually have the fan going full blast. I don’t have a big sign outside or anything like that. It’s just a house number in a busy part of the city. I handle my own schedule and do my own research. Most days involve a lot of reading and writing. I like being in Behala because everything I need is within walking distance, from the post office to the stationery shop. The traffic on Brahmo Samaj Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, but I’m usually tucked away inside by then. It is a very plain way of working, no bells or whistles. I just focus on the task in front of me and try to keep things moving. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but that’s just how things are here. I have my tea, I do my work, and I don’t worry too much about the rest. It is a steady routine that seems to work out well enough for me.
