Iit Kharagpur

Our place is situated near the Kali Mandir in Raniganj, right by the Mahabir Colliery area. If you know the Burdwan district at all, you know it can get pretty dusty around here because of all the coal activity. We are at No 1, which is easy enough to find once you get close to the temple. You can often hear the bells from the mandir in the morning while we are starting our day. The building we are in is nothing special to look at, just a regular local structure that has seen better days. We have been focusing on building a career path from this corner of West Bengal, which is why that phrase is even in our address. It is a hardworking neighborhood where people mostly keep to themselves and focus on their daily bread. The roads can be a bit bumpy and the power goes out sometimes when the weather gets rough, but we just deal with it. We do not have fancy furniture or a big sign outside. It is mostly just a quiet room where we sit and think about the future. Being so close to the colliery means there is always a bit of grit in the air, but it reminds us of the work going on all around us. We are just local folks trying to find our way and making do with what we have.
