We are at Ashirwad, which is house number 45 on South Road in the Santoshpur area. It's a familiar part of Kolkata for many of us. The building itself has been here for years, and we occupy a small section of it. You can usually find one of us sitting near the window trying to catch a breeze because the South Road traffic can get quite warm in the summer. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. It is just a few rooms where we handle our daily tasks. Most mornings involve a bit of cleaning up and getting the computers running before the heat of the day really starts. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so it feels quite lived-in and friendly. Sometimes we hear the neighbors chatting or the sound of someone washing their car outside. It is not the quietest place, but it has a nice rhythm to it. We try to keep things organized, but on busy days, papers might pile up on the desks more than they should. There is a small bakery nearby that smells great in the mornings, which is always a nice start to the workday. We just do our thing here, focusing on the work at hand without any big distractions. It’s a plain office in a plain building, but it works for what we need to do. We’ve grown fond of the old walls and the way the light hits the floor in the evening.
