Hsbc is located at 19 Sarat Chatterjee Avenue in Kolkata. It’s a nice enough area near the lakes, and the trees provide some shade during the afternoon. Our office isn't anything special to look at from the outside. Inside, it is just a bunch of us sitting at our desks doing the daily grind. We handle a lot of different things, mostly involving a lot of typing and double-checking numbers. The building is an older style, so it has some character, even if the pipes occasionally make a lot of noise. We have a small area where people can wait if they need to see us. It’s usually pretty quiet, except when the tea guy comes around with his kettle. We don't have a lot of rules about how things look, so there are stacks of books and papers everywhere. It’s a comfortable place to work for the staff. We’ve been here long enough that we know all the best places to get lunch nearby. Sometimes the traffic on the avenue gets backed up, but we just keep working. We aren't a high-pressure office. We just take things as they come and try to stay on top of the work.
