Our Hsbc spot is at 6 Ashutosh Mukherjee Road in Kolkata. It’s a busy street, and there is always something happening outside the window. The building has been here for years, and we’ve occupied this space for a chunk of that time. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, chairs, and a lot of filing cabinets. We spend our days answering phones and filling out forms. It’s the kind of work that never really ends for us. The ceiling fan wobbles a little, but it keeps the air moving on hot days. We aren't a big, flashy corporation with glass walls. We are just a group of people working in an old part of the city. You can hear the trams and the cars honking all day long. It becomes like background noise after a while. We know the shopkeepers nearby and often grab a quick snack from the corner stall. The lighting could be better, but we get by. We aren't here to impress anyone, just to do our jobs properly. People come in with questions, and we try our best to find the answers in our files. It’s a bit dusty, and the stairs are steep, but it’s our workplace. If you’re in the 700020 area, you’ve probably walked past us a dozen times without noticing. We like it that way. It keeps things simple and honest. We just do our bit every single day without complaining.
