Our office is located in the Malancha area, near the Jhareswar Mandir in Nimpura, Kharagpur. It is a very recognizable part of town because of the temple nearby. We’ve set up shop here to handle insurance matters for the local community. The office isn't very big, but it’s enough for the desks and computers we need to do the job. I guess we spend most of our morning sorting through the applications and checking the policy details on the screen. Many people from the railway colony and nearby areas come to visit us. They often have questions about their life insurance or need help with some forms they find confusing. We try to be as helpful as we can without making things too complicated. The fans keep the air moving, which is necessary during those humid days here. We have a lot of paper records stored in the back because we’ve been operating for quite a while now. Sometimes the street outside gets a bit noisy during festival times because of the temple activities. We just go about our work, typing away and talking to the people who walk in. It’s a very ordinary office with no big decorations on the walls. We drink a lot of tea while we work through the pile of folders on our desks. It’s just us, doing the daily tasks that need to be done to keep the office running. Kharagpur is busy, but we stay pretty consistent.
