Our branch is located in Flat 1C of the Ashim Apartments on Shyamananda Road. It is a bit different from other branches because we are based inside an apartment building at number 21 1A. This makes the place feel more like a quiet home than a big, cold corporate office. We serve the local residents who live around the 700025 area of Kolkata. Most people come in to discuss their savings or to get their passbooks updated. Because we are inside an apartment complex, it is much quieter than being out on a main road junction. We have a small waiting area with just a few chairs and some old magazines for people to look at. The staff here is small, and we have gotten to know many of the families in the building quite well over time. We handle the usual banking stuff like clearing checks and processing various loan applications. Sometimes the power goes out in the neighborhood, but we have a small backup system to keep our computers running. It is not a fancy setup with glass walls or modern art. It is just a practical office where we do our daily work. We like this location because it is peaceful and calm. People often stop by on their way home from the market. We just try to be clear with everyone and help them understand the paperwork they need to fill out. It is a modest space but it gets the job done for the neighborhood.
