Harshit Agro Private Limited

Harshit Agro Private Limited is located in the middle of the city at 4 Synagogue Street. We are way up on the 10th floor in Room 1015. It’s a bit of a change from the actual farms we work with, but this is where all the planning and the phone calls happen. The building is right in the heart of Kolkata, so the noise from the traffic down on the street never really stops. On a clear day, you can see quite far from the window, though mostly you just see other rooftops and the smog. We spend most of our time here talking to suppliers and trying to figure out the best way to move agricultural products around West Bengal. The elevator in this building is sometimes a bit slow, so we end up waiting in the lobby and chatting with the other folks who work in the building. Our office is pretty small and crammed with folders and maps of the different districts. It’s funny because even though we are in a high-rise, we are always thinking about the ground and the dirt. We aren’t really interested in looking like a big polished corporation. We are just a group of people who know the agro business and want to keep things moving. Sometimes the tea we get from the pantry is a bit too sweet, but it keeps us going through the long afternoons when we have to double-check the figures for the week.
