Hal

Our place is called Hal, and we’re located in Kolkata on R N Guha Road. We are in the Ramakrishna Apartments, specifically Flat No D 3 on the second floor. It’s an older building, number 256. Being on the second floor means we have to walk up the stairs every day, which keeps us moving and awake. The apartment isn't huge, but it's enough space for what we do. We’ve turned the rooms into our workspace over the years. It feels more like a home than a real office, which we actually prefer for the daily grind. You can hear the sounds of the street from the balcony, all the horns and people talking down below. We don’t have a big sign outside on the main road, so you have to look for the building name first. Inside, there are bookshelves and some old tables we use for desks. It’s a bit cramped when more than a few people are here at once. We don't spend money on fancy furniture or decorations. We’d rather just focus on the work itself and getting it finished on time. Kolkata is a busy city and things can be chaotic out there, but once we’re inside our flat, it’s just us and our tasks. We’ve been in this spot for a while and we know the neighbors pretty well by now. It’s a simple setup for a simple business. We don't need much more than that to keep things running properly. It might not look like much to a visitor, but it works for us.
