The office is up on the third floor of the Merlin Acropolis Project building on Rajdanga Main Road. It’s a busy part of town and finding a parking spot can be a real headache some days. Inside, Gopalpuram Realestate And Developerprivate Limited is mostly just desks, chairs, and a lot of folders stacked up. We spend a lot of time looking at maps and checking on different plots around the city. It’s noisy outside with all the traffic on the main road, but you get used to it after a while. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Kolkata. We just show up every morning and deal with whatever property issues come up. Sometimes things go slow with the paperwork and other times everyone is rushing at once. It’s just the way the real estate business works here. The people who work here are mostly locals who know the streets and which areas are growing. We don't have any flashy slogans or big signs. If you come to 1858/1 Rajdanga Main Road, you’ll see we are just a regular office trying to get things done. It’s a lot of talking on the phone and writing down numbers. We keep the kettle going for tea and try to stay organized, though some days the desk gets covered in blueprints and we can’t find a pen. The air conditioning hums in the background while we sort through the daily mail. It's a lot of mundane work that keeps us here until late.
