We are Gkb Lens Pvt Limited, based out of 56G Purna Das Road in Kolkata. If you know the 700 029 area, you know it can get quite crowded, especially during the festive seasons. Our shop is just a regular place where we deal with lenses every day. We have been here for a while and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Inside, it is mostly boxes of frames and different types of lens blanks waiting to be worked on. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when we get a big shipment in. We don't use any fancy talk to describe what we do. We just help people see better by getting their glasses right. Some of us have been working together for years, so we have a rhythm going. Kolkata is a city that loves its traditions, and we like to think we are just part of the local fabric on Purna Das Road. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a small break. Otherwise, we are focused on the work at hand. It is not a high-pressure environment, but we do take the technical side of things seriously because mistakes with eyes are not good. We are just local folks doing a specific job. If you walk past, you might hear the sound of the machines or just us chatting about the weather. It is a simple life here.
