Gaytap Hosiery Private Limited is based over at 48 P Majumder Road in the Kasba area. If you go towards the Haltu post office, you’ll find us easily enough. Kolkata can be a maze, but this part of town has its own rhythm. We’ve been working with hosiery for quite some time now. It’s a lot of checking threads and making sure the machines are running right. Our building is nothing special to look at from the outside. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of work and people talking over the noise. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just have a lot of socks and hosiery items piled up. The P.O. Haltu area is where we grew up and where we decided to keep the business. We know the local shopkeepers and the folks who live nearby. Sometimes the rain floods the street a little, but we just put on our boots and keep going. We are a private limited company, but it feels more like a family shop. Everyone knows what their job is. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here at number 48 for years. It’s a busy life, but it’s ours. We handle the orders as they come and try to keep things moving along the best we can. It's just honest work in a busy part of West Bengal.
