Freelance

I’m based in Kolkata, specifically at Flat 4M in the Shravan Block of Duke Residency on Chanditala Lane. I operate under the name Freelance from this residential complex. It’s fairly quiet here, which helps when I need to concentrate. I’ve been running my work from this flat for some time. It’s not an office in the traditional sense, just a dedicated space in my home. Kolkata is a city with a lot of history and noise, but inside this building, it feels a bit more secluded. I handle all my own scheduling and project management. There’s no one else here, so if something doesn't get done, it's on me. I like the responsibility. The area around Chanditala Lane is nice because it has that old Kolkata feel but with some newer buildings mixed in. I don't have a professional receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you’re just coming to my home. I try to keep things as simple as possible. I don't go for big marketing pushes or anything like that. I just do the work and hope people like it enough to tell others. It’s a very personal way to run a business, and it keeps me busy. Most days I’m just sitting here with my tea, working through whatever is on the screen. It’s a good life and it works for my current situation. That's our story.
