Our office for Foster Wheeler India Pvt Ltd is tucked away in the Kalpana Apartment building over in Krishnapur. Specifically, we’re in Flat No T 1 at Af 20A in the Hanapara area. It’s a residential neighborhood, so it doesn't feel like a typical business district at all. You’ll mostly see people going about their daily lives, kids playing, and neighbors talking. We’ve converted this flat into our workspace. It’s got a kitchen where we make way too much tea and a few rooms where we have our desks set up. Working out of an apartment gives things a much more relaxed feel. We don't wear suits or anything like that. Usually, it’s just casual clothes and a lot of focus on our computer screens. The Kolkata 101 area is growing, so there’s always something new being built nearby. It can get a bit noisy with construction sometimes, but mostly it’s just the sounds of the neighborhood. We’ve been here for a while now, and the neighbors have gotten used to us coming and going at odd hours. Finding the flat can be a little tricky for visitors because the apartment blocks all look a bit similar, but once you find Kalpana, it’s easy. We just keep our heads down and get through our tasks. It’s a practical setup for a team that doesn't need a lot of bells and whistles to get the job done.
