If you know Ratan Babu Road in Kolkata, you know it’s an old part of the city with a lot of character. We are based at 36B, right in the middle of it all. FIREFLY CONSTRUCTION isn't some giant company with hundreds of offices. It is just us here, working on local building projects. We handle the brick and mortar side of things. Most of our time is spent on-site, making sure the foundations are poured correctly and the walls are straight. It's a lot of manual coordination. We have been around this 700002 zip code for a while, so we know the local suppliers and the guys who do the best masonry work. The office is usually a mess of files and site boots, but that is how a construction business usually looks when people are actually working. We don't try to sugarcoat the work; it is dusty, loud, and takes a lot of patience. Sometimes things don't go exactly as planned, maybe a truck gets stuck in the narrow lanes or the weather turns bad, but we just figure it out. We aren't interested in fancy talk or slick brochures. We just want to make sure that whatever we build stays standing for a long time. It is about being reliable and showing up every morning. We like the grit of North Kolkata and how everyone knows everyone else. It makes doing business a bit more personal when you are working in your own backyard with people you recognize.
