Fine Weaves (Opc) Private Limited

Our place is at 14 Bechulal Road, right in the heart of a busy part of Kolkata. Since we’re an OPC, it’s mostly just me and a couple of assistants running the show. We focus on weaving, so there’s always a rhythmic sound of machines or handwork going on. The room is usually filled with the smell of new yarn and maybe some floor cleaner. It’s a humble spot, nothing like those big showrooms you see downtown. We have shelves lining the walls, packed with different types of weaves we’ve done over the months. Most of my day is spent checking the tension on the threads or answering the phone. It gets a bit lonely sometimes, but there’s always something that needs fixing. The front door sticks a little when it rains, so you have to give it a good shove. I've been working from this location for quite a while, and the local chai wallah knows exactly how I like my tea. We don't have a big mission or a glossy brochure. We just try to make things that people want to buy. The paperwork is the worst part, and it piles up on the desk faster than I can clear it. But at the end of the day, seeing a finished piece of cloth makes it all worth it. It’s just a small business trying to do its bit. We stay busy with the local orders and don't worry about the rest.
