It’s a very old-school part of the city, and our office fits right in with the surroundings. The lane is narrow, and the buildings have that classic Kolkata look. Inside, it’s mostly just us and our equipment. We take care of finance work for anyone who comes through the door. The 700009 area has a lot of history, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years. Some days the humidity is quite heavy, so we keep the fans going at full speed. We don't have a big staff, just a few people who know their way around financial documents. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the noise from the main roads nearby. We don't do anything flashy. There are no big advertisements or polished brochures. We just talk to people and help them sort out their numbers. Most of our clients are people from the nearby streets who have been coming to us for a long time. We drink a lot of chai and get through the paperwork one page at a time. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. The office at 19 Scort Lane is where you can find us almost every weekday. We’re just regular folks doing a regular job in a very old part of town.
