Fantacy Creations

We are situated at No. 86 Deshbandhu Road in the Jadavpur area. This part of Jadabpur is always full of energy and students from the nearby university. Our shop is a bit of a creative mess most of the time. We work on various creations here and the tables are usually covered in sketches, bits of cloth, and tools. Deshbandhu Road can get very crowded during the rush hours, and we often hear the trams and buses rattling past outside. We started this place because we wanted to make things with our own hands. It’s not a corporate office with clean desks. There is dust and the smell of fabric everywhere. We spend our days mostly cut off from the main noise of the street once we get into our work. Sometimes customers come in with very specific ideas and we spend hours talking through what is possible. It is a slow process but we like it that way. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the machines. The building is old and has that classic Kolkata feel to it. We have some old wooden shelves that have been here since we opened. Sometimes the heat in the summer makes it hard to work, but we just keep the fans going and carry on. It’s a local life and we are just happy to be part of the Jadavpur community and do our daily work.
