No. 4 Fairlie Place is where you can find Walden Infra Projects Ltd. It’s an old building with a lot of character. Our office is usually filled with blueprints and rolled-up maps of different sites. There is always a layer of dust from the street outside. We spend our days looking at project schedules and talking to contractors on the radio or phone. It’s not a glamorous job. We deal with a lot of permits and government paperwork which takes up a lot of space on the shelves. The ceiling is high, which is nice, but it makes the fans work hard in the summer. We have a big table in the middle where we spread out the drawings. It’s usually covered in pens and rulers. People come in and out all day, mostly workers or suppliers. We try to keep a pot of tea going. It gets pretty loud when the traffic picks up near Fairlie Place. We aren't really set up for visitors who just want to browse. It’s a working office. Some of the windows don't open right, but we don't mind. We’ve been here for a while and the location is convenient for getting to different parts of the city. We just focus on getting the projects done and keeping the records straight. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure materials show up when they are supposed to. We keep our heads down and do what needs doing to keep things on track.
