You can find us at Fairlie Place on the fifth floor, number 4 to be exact. Being in this part of the city means we are surrounded by a lot of history and old buildings. We make kitchenware, things that people use in their homes every single day. It’s a practical business. Our office doesn't look like a showroom; it looks like a place where work actually gets done. There are boxes occasionally stacked in the corners and samples of pots or pans sitting on the desks. We spend a lot of time talking to suppliers and checking on the production schedules. The elevator in this building has its moods, so sometimes we end up taking the stairs, which is a bit of a workout. The team is small and we’ve mostly known each other for years. We don't have any polished marketing slogans to share. We just worry about whether the handles are sturdy and if the polish is right. On rainy days, the view from the window is just grey rooftops and wet streets, but we keep the lights bright inside. It’s a bit of a climb to the fifth floor, but it’s home for the business. We focus on the daily tasks, making sure orders are correct and the accounts are balanced. It’s just a normal way to earn a living.
