Ephemeris Traders

You can find Ephemeris Traders over at No. 10/1B Ratan Babu Road. We are basically a trading house, which means our space is usually filled with crates and cardboard boxes waiting to be moved. It isn't a retail shop where everything is displayed on pretty shelves. It is more of a workspace where we check invoices, count stock, and load up the small vans that pull up outside. Ratan Babu Road can be a bit narrow, so things get a little chaotic when deliveries arrive at the same time. The office part is just a small partitioned area with a couple of old wooden desks and a telephone that rings more often than we’d like. We have a heavy iron shutter that we roll up every morning and lock down tight at night. The walls are a plain off-white, mostly covered with charts and shipping schedules. It is a bit of a dusty job, and we are constantly moving things around to make more room for new arrivals. We know most of the other traders nearby, and we often share a bit of gossip or a snack during the slow hours in the afternoon. We don't do anything fancy here; we just focus on making sure the goods come in and go out to the right places on time. It is just honest work in a busy neighborhood.
